Mobix Labs shifts M&A strategy to target drone market companies
Mobix Labs Inc. (NASDAQ: MOBX) announced it is redirecting its merger and acquisition strategy toward drone platform companies and technologies, according to a company press release.
The Irvine, California-based technology provider said it is actively engaged in early-stage discussions with several potential acquisition targets in the unmanned aircraft system market. The company provides advanced technology solutions for defense, aerospace, and high-reliability markets.
The strategic shift builds on two current drone-related projects: a drone-based airborne sensing platform in field deployment phase and a recent selection for a feasibility program for smart munitions technology for anti-drone applications. The airborne sensing platform combines sensors, autonomous flight capability, and integrated analytics for automated inspection across rail, utility, and industrial environments.
"Rapid projected growth in the drone market, creates an exciting opportunity to leverage our engineering and technical strengths, including advanced signal processing, secure communications, and miniaturized hardware design, across a growing range of use cases," stated Phil Sansone, CEO of Mobix Labs.
The company said it aims to integrate its existing capabilities into airborne systems for military applications and private sector infrastructure inspection, monitoring, and scanning solutions. Mobix Labs operates through a portfolio of technologies and subsidiaries, including its RaGE Systems subsidiary.
The company noted that its refocused acquisition strategy is intended to position it at the intersection of connectivity, sensing, and mobility trends in both defense and commercial drone sectors.
