Mobileye Global Inc. (NASDAQ: MBLY) announced it secured a contract to supply its Driver Monitoring System to an unnamed major U.S. automaker, with production scheduled to begin in 2027.
The agreement expands an existing advanced driver-assistance systems program and is expected to span millions of vehicles across multiple models and model years. The automaker will integrate Mobileye's driver monitoring technology with the company's EyeQ6L system-on-chip in future vehicles.
The Jerusalem-based company's driver monitoring platform combines interior cabin sensing with exterior road perception on a single chip. The system evaluates driver engagement by correlating where drivers are looking with real-time road conditions captured by advanced driver-assistance system cameras.
This contract builds on previously announced agreements, including driver monitoring and occupant monitoring systems integrated with Mobileye's EyeQ6H-based programs for another global automaker. The combined programs reflect automaker demand for consolidated driver monitoring, occupant safety and advanced driving functions on unified hardware platforms.
"The next generation of intelligent driving demands richer context from every part of the vehicle – the road ahead, the cabin, and the interplay between them," said Nimrod Nehushtan, executive vice president of business development and strategy at Mobileye.
The platform is designed to support Euro NCAP 2026 scoring requirements and address potential evolution of Euro NCAP 2029 protocols, which may require meaningful engagement detection rather than basic eye tracking.
Mobileye reports that approximately 230 million vehicles worldwide have been built with its EyeQ technology through 2025. Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC) retains majority ownership of Mobileye, which has traded independently since 2022.
