UK PM Starmer: Strait of Hormuz reopening not a NATO mission
Investing.com -- British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated on Monday that efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz will not be conducted as a NATO mission, but will instead involve a broader coalition of partners.
Starmer told reporters that the UK is working with other nations to develop a credible plan to reopen shipping and passage through the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that the mission was never envisioned as a NATO operation.
The Prime Minister said the initiative will require an alliance of partners, which is why the UK is coordinating with countries in Europe, the Gulf region, and the United States.
