NeoGenomics Inc. (NASDAQ: NEO) announced that its PanTracer LBx test received coverage from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' Molecular Diagnostics Services Program under a liquid biopsy coverage determination for solid tumors.
The blood-based comprehensive genomic profiling test supports therapy selection and clinical trial enrollment for patients with advanced solid tumors. Medicare patients can now access the test, which is performed in the company's CLIA-certified laboratory in California.
PanTracer LBx evaluates more than 500 genes, including MSI and bTMB, with a seven-day turnaround time. The test can be ordered standalone, as a reflex when tissue testing proves insufficient, or alongside tissue analysis.
"Securing Medicare coverage for PanTracer LBx represents a significant milestone in making precision oncology more accessible, particularly for those choosing treatment in the community setting," said Tony Zook, Chief Executive Officer of NeoGenomics.
The test complements the company's PanTracer Tissue product to provide comprehensive tumor profiling across different care settings. The Fort Myers, Florida-based company operates CAP-accredited and CLIA-certified laboratories throughout the United States and maintains a facility in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
The coverage decision enables the noninvasive genomic test to reach a broader patient population by reducing financial barriers to advanced cancer diagnostics. Information for this article was based on a company press release.
