Raytheon, a business unit of RTX (NYSE: RTX), has completed a $115 million expansion of its missile integration facility in Huntsville, Alabama. The 26,000 square-foot expansion increases the facility's integration and delivery capacity by more than 50%.
The expansion grows RTX's presence in Alabama to more than 2,200 employees. The Huntsville facility, which opened in 2012, produces nine variants of the Standard Missile family and other weapon systems.
"This expansion marks an important step in our ability to deliver more missiles to our customers faster," said Barbara Borgonovi, president of Naval Power at Raytheon.
The company announced five framework agreements with the U.S. Department of War last month to increase production capacity and accelerate deliveries of munitions. Production under these agreements will occur at Raytheon facilities in Tucson, Arizona; Huntsville, Alabama; and Andover, Massachusetts.
U.S. Representative Dale Strong said the investment strengthens the local economy and national defense capabilities while supporting jobs in the community.
RTX reported 2025 sales of more than $88 billion and employs over 180,000 people globally. The company is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.
