KBR (NYSE: KBR) has been awarded a seven-year General Maintenance Services contract from Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) for its petrochemical expansion complex in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The contract includes an optional three-year extension.
Under the agreement, KBR will provide preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance services for the petrochemical complex. The Houston-based company will support commissioning and start-up operations for the facility, which is being integrated with SATORP's existing refinery.
"We are looking forward to continuing to support SATORP in the expansion of its world-scale petrochemical complex, seamlessly integrated with their existing refinery, one of the most advanced and efficient in the world," said Jay Ibrahim, President, KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions.
SATORP operates a refinery with a processing capacity of 465,000 barrels per day of Arabian Heavy Crude. The company is currently constructing the petrochemical complex to integrate with its existing refinery operations. SATORP is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and TotalEnergies.
KBR employs approximately 36,000 people worldwide and operates in over 28 countries. The company has been providing maintenance solutions in the downstream industry for more than 70 years.
