Investing.com -- Tesla Inc.'s (NASDAQ: TSLA) Optimus humanoid robot program has experienced a leadership change, with Milan Kovac, the head of engineering for Optimus, leaving the company, according to Bloomberg
The departure was effective immediately, and was announced to colleagues on Friday. This unexpected change introduces an element of uncertainty into the program, which CEO Elon Musk has identified as a significant part of Tesla's future business.
Ashok Elluswamy, who currently leads Tesla's autopilot teams, will assume responsibility for the Optimus program. This information was provided by an individual familiar with the matter, who chose to remain anonymous due to the sensitivity of the information.
