Truist Securities analyst William S. Stein reiterated a Buy rating and $258.00 price target on NXP Semiconductors NV (NASDAQ: NXPI)
The analyst comments "Bottom line: Good results & outlook, but CEO transition will raise eyebrows. NXP announced Q1 results that were modestly ahead of our/Street expectations, and guided Q2 ~inline. The PR cites an increasingly uncertain environment influenced by the direct & indirect effects of tariffs, which seems par for the course this qtr. The surprise (at least to us) this qtr was the announcement that CEO Kurt Sievers is retiring at the end of 2025. We believe investors viewed Sievers as an effective and successful leader, so his retirement will raise some eyebrows. Considering that the board has already conducted a “comprehensive and thorough succession planning process” and already named Rafael Sotomayor the successor, perhaps we can all relax our eyebrows. Mr. Sotomayor is currently EVP & GM of the secure connected edge business (think: NFC, UWB, Wi-Fi, & Bluetooth products.) Mr. Sotomayor takes the President title on April 28, and will take the CEO title on October 28."
