Ford Motor (NYSE: F) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Liz Door from Whirlpool Corp (NYSE: WHR) as its new chief supply chain officer, effective June 12. This decision comes as Ford anticipates a challenging 2023 due to chip shortages, supply chain problems, and production instabilities.
Prior to joining Ford, Door held the position of executive vice president of global strategic sourcing at Whirlpool and also had experience in the global purchasing and supply chain organization at General Motors Co (NYSE: GM).
"Door comes to Ford at a time when improving quality and reducing costs, including through the supply chain, are high priorities and vital to realizing the full potential of the Ford+ plan," Ford said.
Shares of F are up 2.10% in afternoon trading on Tuesday.
