Jeep debuted its new 2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle to a gathered crowed at the Detroit Auto Show Wednesday morning. Numerous company executives were on hand for the unveilings, which took place as part of the 2022 North American International Auto Show’s Media Day, including Stellantis (NYSE: STLA) CEO Carlos Tavares.
Tavares could be seen walking the floor of the event chatting with other executives such as the Jeep brand CEO, Christian Meunier and even President Joe Biden.
The Willys 4xe is expected to deliver 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque as well as 21 miles of all-electric range, no gas needed. The 4xe's three E Selec Modes prioritize electric power (Electric), gas engine power (eSave), or optimize both (Hybrid), allowing the driver lots of control over the driving experience.
It’s also got a suggested retail price, which Jeeps calls a new entry price point, of $53,995, not counting the $7,500 tax credit or the $1,595 destination charge.
Ordering is open now with arrival to begin later this year, according to a news release.
Shares of STLA are trading up over 2% mid-day on Wednesday.
