A number of Chinese citizens slammed Tesla’s (NASDAQ: TSLA) Elon Musk online after China said that SpaceX’s satellites nearly collided with its space station.
In a memo sent to the UN’s space agency in December, China said its space station had to take evasive action to avoid collision with SpaceX’s satellites.
China said it registered two incidents, the first on July 01 and the second on October 21.
“For safety reasons, the China Space Station implemented preventive collision avoidance control,” China said in a document published on the website of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs.
As a result, Chinese internet users accused Musk of launching “American space warfare weapons.”
This is not the first time that Musk gets negative publicity in China after Tesla car owners shared quality concerns earlier this year.
