UPDATE: American Airlines (AAL) Tops Q1 EPS by 1c, FY EPS Guidance Misses

American Airlines (NASDAQ: AAL) reported Q1 EPS of $0.52, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.51. Revenue for the quarter came in at $10.6 billion versus the consensus estimate of $10.6 billion.
GUIDANCE:
American Airlines sees FY2019 EPS of $4.00-$6.00, versus the consensus of $5.63.
- American expects its second-quarter 2019 TRASM to be up 1% to 3% year over year. The company also expects its second-quarter 2019 pre-tax margin excluding net special items to be between 7% and 9%2. Based on today’s guidance, American now expects its 2019 diluted earnings per share excluding net special items to be between $4.00 and $6.002.
