Walmart (WMT) Tops Q2 EPS by 7c, Revenue Beats, U.S. Comps Increase 4.5%

Walmart (NYSE: WMT) reported Q2 EPS of $1.29, $0.07 better than the analyst estimate of $1.22. Revenue for the quarter came in at $128 billion versus the consensus estimate of $125.97 billion.

  • Walmart U.S. comp sales increased 4.5%, the strongest growth in more than ten years led by the performance of grocery, apparel and seasonal.
  • Walmart eCommerce sales grew 40%

GUIDANCE:

Walmart raised FY2019 EPS to $4.90-$5.05, versus the consensus of $4.81.
