Susquehanna options strategist Alison Edwards notes continued upside positioning in Canadian Solar (NASDAQ: CSIQ), as an opening investor purchased 5,000 Sep 17 Calls vs. selling 5,000 each in both Sep 18 and 19 Calls, for even money. The ATM call buying suggests sentiment that the investor is looking for upside potential above current levels (spot $16.675) by next month while the short calls limit exposure around ~8% higher.
Investors are also long 10,000 Oct 18 Calls and 7,000 Jan 20 Calls, pointing to a more speculatively bullish bias in the longer term. This is substantial volume for a name that averages less than 2k calls/day.
