Facebook's (Nasdaq: FB) Instagram is said to have discussed an "R-rated" version of the site.
Vanity Fair spoke with Instagram cofounder Kevin Systrom at its New Establishment Summit in San Francisco on Tuesday. Systrom affirmed the chatter, saying, There have been discussions ... who decides what's R-rated ... We’re not in the business of hosting porn. We focus on people being able to express themselves in beautiful ways.
Systrom also said, We get rid of people on our platform who were causing trouble. We tried to set a tone that Instagram wasn’t a place for that and we invest heavily in that,” he said. “Images are just positive. It’s hard to be negative with an image.
Shares of Facebook are indicated higher early Wednesday.
