https://www.nb.com/public/DMA/MYP/home.htmNeuberger Berman is an employee-owned investment advisory firm serving institutional and individual investors worldwide. The firm offers a broad range of investment capabilities across investment styles and asset classes.
Neuberger Berman was founded in 1939 by Roy Neuberger and Robert Berman. In 2003, the firm was acquired by Lehman Brothers for approximately $2.63 billion in cash and securities. After Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy in 2008, Lehman agreed to sell Neuberger to private equity firms, Bain Capital and Hellman & Friedman. However, a group of managers and senior employees prevailed as the winner bidder after a bankruptcy auction was held in federal bankruptcy court, ending the deal with the private equity firms.
