John D. Arnold
Centaurus Energy LP John D. Arnold is the founder and manger of the energy hedge fund Centaurus Energy LP. Mr. Arnold graduated from Vanderbilt University and began his career as a trader at Enron. Using the internet, he made $750 million for Enron in 2001 and was rewarded with an $8 million bonus.
After Enron collapsed in 2002, Arnold started Centaurus Energy with his $8 million bonus. Centaurus now has as much as $3 billion in assets under management. Many of the fund's employees are former Enron employees including former CEO, Greg Whalley. According to Forbes, Arnold is worth about $1.5 billion making him the 317 richest person in the world. At age 33, he holds the distinction of being the youngest billionaire on the 25th installment of the Forbes 400.
