Jim Chanos

Jim Chanos Jim Chanos is the founder and president of Kynikos Associates a hedge fund focused on short selling. Short selling is a bet that a stocks will fall in value, versus the traditional long position, which is a bet that the stock will rise. A short seller borrows stock, sells it in the market and try to buy it back later a cheaper price, pocketing the difference.

Chanos was early shorting famous blow-ups like Baldwin-United, Drexel Burnham and Enron.
