Haynesville Shale
The Haynesville Shale, also known as the Bossier Shale, is a large natural gas deposit in northwestern Louisiana, eastern Texas, and southwestern Arkansas. The most productive areas have been Caddo, Bienville, Bossier, DeSoto, Red River and Webster Parishes of Louisiana plus adjacent areas in southwest Arkansas and east Texas.
