Goldman Sachs upgraded Masco (NYSE: MAS) from Sell to Neutral with a price target of $20.50 as risk/reward is more balanced.
Analyst Eli Hackel comments, "The stock is now below our price target and at these levels we believe risk/reward is more balanced. Our negative view on Masco was related to our expectation for the residential R&R market to lag expectations, our view that the slowdown in new construction was not reflected in consensus estimates, our view of the installation business as non-core and our view of the limited margin expansion potential of paint. We believe these issues are now better understood. Since being added to the Sell list (on 12/8/13), the shares are down 6% vs. the S&P 500 up 4%."
