Enlivex reports positive knee osteoarthritis trial results for Allocetra

Enlivex Therapeutics Ltd. (NASDAQ: ENLV) reported positive three-month results from a Phase IIa clinical trial of its Allocetra treatment for moderate-to-severe knee osteoarthritis.

The multi-center, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial showed a 24% reduction in knee pain and 26% improvement in knee function in the overall modified intention-to-treat population receiving Allocetra compared to placebo.

In a subset of patients with age-related primary osteoarthritis, the treatment demonstrated a 72% reduction in knee pain and 95% improvement in knee function versus placebo. The company described these results as statistically significant.

The trial reported no severe adverse events, with most side effects characterized as mild to moderate and transient. Enlivex, based in Nes-Ziona, Israel, develops macrophage reprogramming immunotherapies.

"We believe these results provide clear indication that Allocetra has the potential to become a novel, safe and effective treatment for knee osteoarthritis," said CEO Oren Hershkovitz.

The company hosted a webinar to discuss the trial results in detail. ENX-CL-05-001 is a two-stage Phase I/II trial evaluating Allocetra in patients with moderate-to-severe knee osteoarthritis.
