Tableau Software (DATA) Sinks to Session Lows; No Wall Street Lovefest

June 11, 2013 3:46 PM EDT
Tableau Software (NYSE: DATA) is seeing pressure late in the session. Shares are down 7.7% into the close. As the quiet period ended today, analysts were mixed on the stock with 2 Buy ratings and 6 Neutrals according to data at Ratings Insider.

Some commentary:
Goldman Sachs (Neutral) - "We see Tableau leveraging highly differentiated IP and a design-focused product strategy to drive viral growth. 2012 revenue growth was more than 100% as DATA benefited from the transformation of the $13bn business intelligence market to next-gen solutions and expands the market by empowering more of the 600mn plus knowledge workers with enterpriseclass analytics. Despite our positive view, at 15.5x 2014 EV/revenues versus the group at 8.3x, we see limited near-term upside."

UBS (Buy) - "Just as Apple made computers highly visual, intuitive and easy enough for mainstream consumption, DATA is making that same leap for the business intelligence industry. Their soft ware is empowering everyone in an org to see their data and discover more about their biz. In 10yrs, DATA has attracted a cult like following of 12k customers, >100k users, and the fastest sales growth of our group last year, 105% y/y. We believe their segment of the market is still years away from maturity, and DATA can keep their competitive edge with visionary founders and a commitment to driving innovation."
