Solar Stocks Rocket Higher as News from Top Players Turning Positive

The solar sector has been sitting back and soaking up the rays recently as analysts and companies have had nothing but good things to say. The sector, as measured by the Claymore Global Solar ETF (NYSE: TAN), is up nearly 5 percent Friday morning.

The group is getting legs from a number of positive individual news items this morning.
Around the sector:
  • Canadian Solar (Nasdaq: CSIQ) up 15.5 percent
  • Hanwha Solarone (Nasdaq: HSOL) 11.5 percent
  • ReneSola (NYSE: SOL) up 8.5 percent
  • Jinko Solar (NYSE: JKS) up 7.9 percent
  • JA Solar (Nasdaq: JASO) up 7 percent
  • Yingli (NYSE: YGE) up 7.1 percent
  • Trina (NYSE: TSL) up 7.6 percent
The solar industry has been moving higher over the past few months as reports stronger demand from Asia is expected to offset the missing demand from Europe. The TAN ETF is up more than 26 percent year to date.
