Buffett Offers Bond Insures Plan To Re-Insure Municipal Bond Portfolios

On CNBC, Warren Buffett said he sent an offer to the three largest bond insurers last week offering to re-insure their municipal bond portfolios. Stocks: Ambac (NYSE: ABK), MBIA (NYSE: MBI), FGIC.

Buffett said they were turned down by one and the others have not leapt to sign deals.
