Bank of America (BAC) Indicates March Was Slower, But Still Profitable

April 2, 2009 7:34 AM EDT
In a CNBC interview, Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) CEO Ken Lewis was asked if, like JP Morgan's (NYSE: JPM) Jamie Dimon indicated, March was slow compared to the first two months of the first quarter. Lewis indicated that they did see some slowing at the tail end of the first quarter, but were still profitable.

Lewis, like Citigroup's (NYSE: C) CEO Vikram Pandit, made headlines last quarter after announcing they were profitable for the first two months of the year. JP Morgan threw some cold water on this 'bank profitability' talk after noting that March was weak compared to January and February.
