Bureau of Labor Statistics faces technical issues before jobs report
(Updated - September 5, 2025 8:05 AM EDT)
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported technical difficulties with its website data retrieval tools ahead of the scheduled monthly employment report release at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time on September 5.
The agency's data access systems are currently unavailable. The technical problems affect the bureau's data retrieval tools, though the agency has not indicated whether the issues will delay the employment data release.
"Sorry, we are currently experiencing technical difficulties. All BLS data retrieval tools will be available as soon as we've resolved the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience," the Bureau of Labor Statistics stated.
The monthly employment report represents one of the most closely watched economic indicators, providing data on job creation and unemployment rates that influence financial markets and Federal Reserve policy decisions.
