AT&T (T) Target Netflix (NFLX) With New Streaming Video Service

In addition to rumors Carl Ichan is selling, the mid-day weakness in Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) could be related to news of AT&T (NYSE: T) TV Screen Pack for U-verse.

Availave for $5 a month, U-verse TV Screen Pack customers get unlimited, instant playback of an extensive library of movies on U-verse TV, Uverse.com and on the U-verse app for tablets and smartphones – all without having to rent DVDs.

AT&T is offering customers a free preview of Screen Pack today through Sunday, Jan. 13.

After trading up s 5.8 percent earlier, Netflix shares are now up just 1.5 percent.
