First Commonwealth reports Q4 earnings rise to $44.9 million

First Commonwealth Financial Corporation (NYSE: FCF) reported net income of $44.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2025, an increase from $41.3 million in the previous quarter and $35.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2024. Diluted earnings per share reached $0.43, up from $0.39 in the prior quarter.
For the full year 2025, the Indiana, Pennsylvania-based bank holding company posted net income of $152.3 million, or $1.47 per diluted share, compared to $142.6 million, or $1.39 per share, in 2024.
The company's net interest margin expanded to 3.98% in the fourth quarter, a six basis point increase from the previous quarter and 44 basis points higher than the same period in 2024. Net interest income on a fully taxable equivalent basis totaled $113.6 million for the quarter.
Total loans grew $743.7 million, or 8.2%, compared to the prior year, reaching $9.5 billion at December 31, 2025. Average deposits increased $580.1 million, or 6.1%, year-over-year to $10.3 billion.
The provision for credit losses was $7.0 million in the fourth quarter, down from $11.3 million in the previous quarter. Net charge-offs totaled $11.3 million, representing 0.46% of average loans on an annualized basis.
First Commonwealth declared a quarterly dividend of $0.135 per share, a 3.9% increase from the fourth quarter of 2024. The company repurchased 1.45 million shares at a weighted average price of $15.94 during the quarter and received board authorization for an additional $25.0 million share repurchase program.
The bank's total regulatory capital ratio stood at 13.4% at year-end, representing $348.0 million in excess capital above regulatory requirements.
