Cogent Communications Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: CCOI) announced that its board of directors has authorized management to resume the company's stock repurchase program.
The internet service provider stated it may purchase shares periodically based on market, economic and other factors. The program does not require the company to acquire any specific number of shares, and the amount of shares that may be repurchased cannot be guaranteed.
Cogent describes itself as a multinational, Tier 1 facilities-based internet service provider that specializes in providing businesses with high-speed internet access, Ethernet transport and colocation services. The company operates an all-optical IP network backbone serving 302 markets globally.
The company is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
