Calix, Inc. (NYSE: CALX) announced that its board of directors has expanded the company's existing stock repurchase authorization by $100 million, according to a press release from the San Jose-based company.
The additional authorization is designed to give the company more flexibility under its existing repurchase program. Under the program, repurchases may be conducted through open market purchases, privately negotiated transactions, or other methods permitted by Securities and Exchange Commission rules.
The timing, price, and size of any repurchases will depend on prevailing stock prices, general economic and market conditions, and other factors. The program does not obligate Calix to repurchase any specific dollar amount or number of shares, and it may be suspended or discontinued at any time.
