Birchtech starts $5M share buyback program on NYSE American
Birchtech Corp. (NYSE American: BCHT, TSX: BCHT) announced it will begin repurchasing shares of its common stock under a $5.0 million buyback program that its board of directors authorized and announced on March 19, 2025.
According to a press release, purchases are expected to commence on or after September 14, 2026, and may continue through December 31, 2026, unless completed, suspended, or discontinued earlier. Repurchases will be conducted through open market transactions on the NYSE American at prevailing market prices, subject to market conditions, regulatory requirements, and other factors.
The company said it intends to fund any purchases from available cash. As of June 30, 2026, Birchtech reported $11.8 million in cash and no debt.
Richard MacPherson, President and Chief Executive Officer, said: "Commencing this program reflects the confidence of our Board and management team in the durability of our business and in the value we are building across both of our platforms. With $11.8 million of cash and no debt as of June 30, 2026, we have the capacity to do both, and we intend to act opportunistically and with discipline on behalf of my fellow shareholders."
The company noted it is not obligated to purchase any specific number of shares, and the actual volume and timing of purchases will depend on market conditions.
