Amerant Bancorp Inc. (NYSE: AMTB) announced its board of directors declared a cash dividend of $0.09 per share of common stock, payable February 27, 2026, to shareholders of record on February 13, 2026.
The board also authorized a new share repurchase program allowing the company to purchase up to $40 million of its Class A common stock through December 31, 2026. The Coral Gables, Florida-based bank holding company may execute repurchases through open market transactions, block purchases, or privately negotiated deals in compliance with securities regulations.
"Given the current price level of our common stock, we believe that buying back shares represents an attractive investment and an efficient use of capital," said Carlos Iafigliola, interim CEO, according to the company's statement.
The repurchase program does not obligate Amerant to buy back any specific amount of stock and may be suspended or discontinued without notice. Timing and execution will depend on market conditions, regulatory requirements, and other corporate priorities, the company stated.
Amerant operates through its main subsidiary, Amerant Bank, N.A., providing deposit, credit and wealth management services. The bank operates 23 banking centers, with 21 locations in South Florida and two in Tampa.
