After-hours movers: Scholastis, Oxford Industries fall following earnings

After-Hours Movers:
Scholastic Corp (NASDAQ: SCHL) 13% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of ($0.57), versus ($0.44) reported last year. Revenue for the quarter came in at $324.9 million, versus $344.5 million reported last year. The Company has updated its guidance for fiscal year 2023 and now expects Adjusted EBITDA (as defined in the accompanying tables) of $175 million to $185 million (compared to a range of $195 to $205 million, previously). Full-year revenue is expected to grow approximately 4% (compared to a range of 8% to 10%, previously), as the Company takes additional steps to manage spending and preserve margins in line with its updated outlook.
Heron Therapeutics (NASDAQ: HRTX) 12% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of ($0.17), $0.15 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.32). Revenue for the quarter came in at $30.03 million versus the consensus estimate of $27.24 million.
Societal CDMO, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCTL) 7% HIGHER; RBC Capital initiates coverage on with an Outperform rating and a price target of $2.00.
Oxford Industries (NYSE: OXM) 6% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $2.28, $0.14 better than the analyst estimate of $2.14. Revenue for the quarter came in at $382 million versus the consensus estimate of $377.07 million. Oxford Industries sees Q1 2024 EPS of $3.60-$3.80, versus the consensus of $4.10. Oxford Industries sees Q1 2024 revenue of $405-425 million, versus the consensus of $411 million. Oxford Industries sees FY2024 EPS of $11.50-$11.90, versus the consensus of $11.82. Oxford Industries sees FY2024 revenue of $1.62-1.66 billion, versus the consensus of $1.6 billion.
JOANN Inc (NASDAQ: JOAN) 5% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.07, $0.55 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.62. Revenue for the quarter came in at $692.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $670.32 million.
Nelnet (NYSE: NNI) 4% LOWER; cutting 550 jobs as a results on modified DoE contract.
