Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) traded back below $100 per share Thursday, falling 2.2% early in the session. Yesterday Apple pulled a mobile software update when some people lost cellular service. Also weighing on shares is #bendgate, a hot topic on twitter and in the general media yesterday. #bendgate relates to criticism the iPhone 6 Plus bends if sat on or if enough pressure is placed upon it.

The worry is that customers could delay orders given the missteps.

Also contributing to weakness is renewed chatter that Carl Icahn is quietly exiting his position. However, as recently as September 9, Mr. Icahn admitted he was not selling Apple stock but buying it. "Where else can you get a growth company at 10x earnings?," he told Bloomberg's Trish Regan at that time. "While everyone is worried about the new products today, I just look at the math," he was also quoted as saying. "Numbers speak for themselves."

Lastly, data after the close Wednesday showed that short interest in Apple rose sharply. Short interest rose 44% from 96,046,863 shares to 138,266,760 shares in the stock.
