Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) is strong off the open as speculators were given a second wind after Goldman Sach (NYSE: GS) CEO Lloyd Blankfein tweeted a picture of himself with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
StreetInsider confirmed the picture was taken yesterday and Mr. Blankfein spoke at a Twitter event. He was there to talk to Twitter employees about leadership and his use of Twitter, part of a larger Q&A series with well known Twitter users, the company said.
Twitter is often mentioned as a takeover target, so this, of course, has speculators buzzing. However, it should be noted that the oft-rumored suitor, Disney (NYSE: DIS), just did a huge deal for Fox assets, so is unlikely to make another major deal anytime soon.
Shares of Twitter are up 3.1%.
