Sears Holdings (SHLD) Sees Upside On Questionable Rumor

January 17, 2012 10:30 AM EST
Shares of beaten-up retailer Sears Holdings (Nasdaq: SHLD) are flying higher Tuesday and there is some vague speculation that the company is the target of a private equity bid.

Today's takeover rumors almost seem laughable. Nonetheless, the stock last traded up 14 percent to $38.27.
