(Reuters) - Wall Street stock futures opened sharply lower on Sunday suggesting a rough start to the trading week as investors worried that a global trade war could push the U.S. economy into a recession after President Donald Trump's announcement last week of sweeping tariffs against U.S. trading partners.

U.S. S&P 500 E-minis stock futures were down 218 points, or 4.27%, at 4,892.25. Dow E-minis were down 1,524 points, or 3.96%, while Nasdaq 100 E-minis were down 804 points, or 4.58%.
