Wall Street opens subdued in last session of 2025, eyes yearly gains

Dec 31 (Reuters) - ⁠Wall ⁠Street's ‍main indexes opened muted on ‍the last trading day ​of 2025, but ​approached a robust end to a roller-coaster year marked by ​uncertainty over President Donald Trump's ​tariffs and unrivalled euphoria around AI.

The ‌Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 4.5 points, ​or 0.01%, ⁠at the open to 48,371.52. ‌The S&P 500 rose 2.6 points, or ‌0.04%, at the open ‌to 6,898.82​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.8 points, ‍or 0.01%, to 23,420.853 at ⁠the opening bell.
