Wall St subdued at open as Fed rate cut decision nears

Dec 9 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main stock indexes were subdued at the open on Tuesday as investors awaited the Federal Reserve's policy decision, while Nvidia shares were whipsawed by contrasting news around exports of advanced AI chips to China.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 14.8 points, or 0.03%, at the open to 47,724.52. The S&P 500 fell 5.9 points, or 0.09%, at the open to 6,840.61, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 41.3 points, or 0.18%, to 23,504.614 at the opening bell.
