WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Tuesday he believes the Federal Reserve could lower interest rates by September.
His comments on the Fox News show "The Ingraham Angle," come as President Donald Trump repeatedly urges the Fed to lower rates from their current 4.25%-4.50% range.

(Reuters) -Australia's Qantas Airways confirmed on Wednesday a cyber incident at one of its contact centres, impacting customer data.
The company said the breach occurred when a cybercriminal targeted a call centre and accessed a third-party customer servicing platform.
"We are continuing to investigate the proportion of the data that has been stolen, though we expect it will be significant," Qantas said in a statement.

LONDON (Reuters) -Average annual pay awards offered by British employers rose in the three months to May, after an increase in the minimum wage boosted pay significantly for some lower-paid workers, a survey showed on Wednesday.
Incomes Data Research said the median pay settlement awarded by major British employers had increased to 3.4% in the three months to May, up from 3.2% in the three months to the end of April.
