Wall St opens flat ahead of Christmas break

Dec ⁠24 (Reuters) - Wall ⁠Street ‍indexes opened nearly flat ‍in shortened Christmas ​Eve trading on ​Wednesday, as traders wait to see whether stocks can ​extend record gains in a ​seasonally strong stretch for markets.

At ‌09:30 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones ​Industrial Average ⁠fell 42.67 points, or 0.09%, ‌to 48,399.74. The S&P 500 ‌lost 0.70 points, or ‌0.01%, to 6,909.09, and the Nasdaq Composite dipped ‍25.58 points, or 0.06%, to ⁠23,542.31 points.
