LONDON (Reuters) -Shares in artificial intelligence heavyweights Microsoft and Meta Platforms both surged in European trading on Thursday, after blowout quarterly results after-market on Wednesday.

Meta shares surged 12.2% in Frankfurt after it forecast quarterly revenue well ahead of Wall Street expectations.

LSEG reports 7.8% rise in first-half profit, announces buyback Jul 31, 2025 02:16AM

(Reuters) -The London Stock Exchange Group on Thursday announced a share buyback program of 1 billion pounds ($1.33 billion) for the second half after reporting a better-than-expected rise in first-half profit, driven by strong performance across its businesses.

SINGAPORE (Reuters) -Jet fuel exports from South Korea, China and Southeast Asia to Europe likely hit a multi-year high in July as traders shipped out excess regional supply to cash in on higher European prices, according to shiptracking data and industry sources.

Shell beats profit expectations at $4.3 billion, keeps buybacks steady Jul 31, 2025 02:12AM

LONDON (Reuters) - Shell's adjusted earnings, its definition of net profit, reached $4.264 billion in the second quarter, it said on Thursday, above the $3.74 billion average in an analyst poll provided by the company but down from $6.3 billion a year ago.

Shell said it would maintain the pace of its share buyback programme at $3.5 billion over the next three months, the 15th consecutive quarter of at least $3 billion.
