SISAKET, Thailand (Reuters) -Fighting on the Thai-Cambodian border extended into a third day and new flashpoints emerged on Saturday as both sides sought diplomatic support, saying they had acted in self-defence and calling on the other to cease fighting and start negotiations.

BEIJING (Reuters) -Beijing has issued a warning for potential geological disasters, including landslides and mudslides, across 10 of the city's 16 districts, the capital's meteorological agency said on Saturday.
The alert comes after intense rainfall on Friday, with city authorities also warning of flash floods in mountainous areas on Saturday.

(Reuters) -The Trump administration has brought some 1,700 military personnel under the command of state governors to help with the administration's immigration law enforcement mission, the Pentagon said on Friday.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said the service status of 1,200 personnel, who were already assisting with the mission, was changed to Title 32 from Title 10 and an additional 500 personnel were authorized to help with the immigration effort.... (continue reading...)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -About 20% of the employees at the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration are set to depart the space agency, a NASA spokesperson said on Friday.
Around 3,870 individuals are expected to depart, but that number may change in the coming days and weeks, the spokesperson said, adding that the remaining number of employees at the agency would be around 14,000.
