US strikes Iran radar sites after Iranian drone launch

WASHINGTON, ‌June 5 (Reuters) - ​The ​U.S. military said it ‌carried out strikes on ⁠Iranian radar sites ‌on Friday in ‌what it called a defensive action ​after Iran launched four ⁠attack drones toward the Strait ​of Hormuz.

The U.S. military shot down ​all of the ‌Iranian drones, saying they "posed ⁠an immediate threat to regional maritime ⁠traffic." It said the ​Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites targeted by the ‌U.S. were located in Goruk ‌and on ⁠Qeshm ‌Island.
