US says TSA absences rose slightly to 10.2% Wednesday

WASHINGTON, ‌March 19 (Reuters) - ​Overall ​absences among Transportation ‌Security Administration airport ⁠security officers rose ‌to 10.2% on ‌Wednesday, up slightly as a ​partial government shutdown continues, ⁠the government said on ​Thursday.

The absenteeism rate was much higher ​at some ‌major airports on Wednesday ⁠including 25% at New York's ⁠JFK and San Juan, ​Puerto Rico, 38% at Atlanta and at ‌Houston Bush, the Homeland ‌Security Department ⁠said.
