US sanctions Nicaragua vice minister over alleged human rights abuses
April 18 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that the United States is imposing visa sanctions on Nicaragua's vice-minister of the interior, Luis Roberto Cañas Novoa, for alleged involvement in human rights violations.
The sanctions render Cañas Novoa ineligible for entry into the United States.
