US Senate blocks resolution curbing Trump's Iran war powers

WASHINGTON, ‌July ​23 (Reuters) - ​The U.S. Senate ‌on Thursday blocked ⁠a Democratic-led ‌resolution aiming to ‌stop the Iran war ​until hostilities are ⁠authorized by Congress. ​The resolution reflects growing congressional ​concern, even ‌among President Donald ⁠Trump's Republicans, over the ⁠war.

The Senate voted ​49 to 47 not to ‌advance the war powers ‌resolution.
