HOUSTON (Reuters) - Members of Venezuela's political opposition and the boards that supervise state-owned refiner Citgo Petroleum have met U.S. officials and lawmakers in recent days in a new effort to pause a court-ordered auction of shares to pay creditors, people close to the talks said.

SYDNEY (Reuters) -Australia's privacy regulator said on Wednesday it had filed a lawsuit against the country's biggest health insurer Medibank over a data breach that exposed personal information of millions of customers on the dark web.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's inflation-adjusted real wages fell again in April from a year earlier, extending a record streak of declines for the 25th month, as higher costs of living outweighed pay raises, data from the labour ministry showed on Wednesday.
Real wages fell 0.7% year-on-year in April, a slower pace of decline from the preceding month's 2.1% drop.

FLORENCE, Italy (Reuters) - American Amanda Knox will be back in court in Italy on Wednesday as she tries to overturn a conviction for slander, the last outstanding case against her following the notorious killing of a British student in 2007.
