EU-US trade deal could add up to $19 billion in pharma industry costs, analysts say Jul 28, 2025 01:41PM

(Reuters) -The European Union's trade deal with the United States could cost the pharmaceutical industry between $13 billion and $19 billion as branded medicines become subject to a tariff of 15%, analysts said on Monday. 

The added costs could raise prices for consumers unless pharmaceutical companies take action to mitigate the impact of the tariffs, one of the analysts said.

Germany's Merz says he did not expect better EU-US trade deal, German economy will suffer Jul 28, 2025 01:36PM

BERLIN (Reuters) -German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Monday he was not satisfied with the result of trade talks with the United States, but "more simply wasn't achievable" and added the German economy would suffer "significant" damage due to the agreed tariffs.

Peru mulls green light for $6 billion in mining projects, president says Jul 28, 2025 01:35PM

LIMA (Reuters) -Peru is evaluating the authorization of 134 mining exploration and exploitation projects worth an estimated investment of $6 billion, President Dina Boluarte said on Monday, as her government looks to boost revenues from the key industry.

Spy satellite agency says law enforcement probing 'incident' affecting contracting site Jul 28, 2025 01:32PM

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. spy satellite agency said on Monday authorities are investigating an unspecified incident affecting a website serving prospective intelligence community contractors.
