Oct 15 (Reuters) - Tesla's ‌top energy executive, Mike Snyder, has stepped down as vice president of energy and ‌charging, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

• AJ Booth, senior director of energy products engineering, ‌will succeed Snyder, according ‌to the report

• Tesla did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. Reuters could not independently verify the report

• Snyder joined Tesla in 2014, rose to run its Megapack industrial battery division, and was promoted to vice president in 2024 after a company-wide restructuring led to the exit of several top executives, ‌including longtime energy chief Drew Baglino

• Tesla's energy business grew 9.6% in the third quarter, measured by battery energy deployed, the company said earlier this month. Energy made up about 11% of total revenue in the first half of the year, while electric vehicles made up 70%

• Tesla is expanding sales of industrial-scale ‌batteries to support data centers, alongside products for renewable energy on ‌the grid and in homes, and has a proposed plan to ‌build a $10 billion solar factory in Texas
